Crochet Tube

A few years ago I came across a great website with some wonderful tutorials. The website is Tephra's Web Studio. One of the tutorials I enjoyed doing was "Crochet Chain Tubes". I've actually done of few of her tutorials and think they are great! So I do recommend you check that site out as well as try some of her tuts.

I did this tutorial in 2007 and saved my chain tube creation. I've had it all these years and I use it now and again. I redid all my files once and this one for some reason didn't make it back into my tubes. Well... I found it and exported it back to it's tube folder. It's fun to play around with.

So I thought I would share the link to the tutorial if you would like to try it for yourself, but... I also decided I would share the tube I made in case you get overwhelmed by tutorials and just want to play around with it.

It's just a fun tube to doodle with.  :)  Now I use PSP 9 so that is what my instructions will be for, but you can adapt it to whatever program you use I'm thinking.

You can save the flower to the right if you'd like. It's in PNG Format.

Below you find the tube. I have it here in a PNG Format so you just need to right click on it and save it.  Once you have it saved, open the file and choose :

FILE - EXPORT - PICTURE TUBE

You can change the settings later to your liking after you play around with it.

When the menu box comes up enter
Cells Across : 6
Cells Down : 6
Total Cells : (Should read 36)

Placement Mode : Continuous
Step Size : 20
Selection Mode : Angular
Scale : 100 (You can change it later)
Tube Name : Give it a name
OK

The Chains are done in a gray so they work well for colorizing. You can brighten or darken for deeper or lighter color effects.

I do (again) urge you to check out Tephra's Web Studio and try this tutorial on your own to add to your skills. As well as any of her other great tutorials as well.

This tube is Free to Use and share. It's sooooo much fun to play around with.

Have fun!

Gingerbread Men Appliques

So... I decided to fiddle around some. I ended up coming up with these Gingerbread Men Appliques. Their not perfect, but what applique is right? Well, that's what i am telling myself anyway. :) I had fun playing with them and creating them. I wanted to make something festive. Which if you knew me would surprise you. I am not a festive holiday type person as a rule. For some reason though, I decided this year to try harder. So I made the trees the other day and today Gingerbread Men.

Each Gingerbread man comes on their own layer. Please feel free to add to them in any way you wish. I didn't add a mouth because I felt like the mouths I made looked weird. So feel free to fiddle, add, whatever suits your needs.  The only rule I have is to not claim them as your own or remove my "designed by" layer. Other than that... go nuts!

On another note, I wanted to show you some work from a great artist I have the pleasure to know personally. I call him "My Brother" because I have known him since he was 6 years old. He used to draw me all my favorite rock stars when he was just in his early teens. I am one of his biggest fans. His work has gotten so amazing over the years, I find myself bragging because I know him. I have been trying to talk him into whipping up some designs for me to tube. Maybe after Christmas. He does commissions at great prices and he just recently opened an online store to sell some prints of his work. Everything is in the very beginning stages (aside from the work). But I think he deserves an online presence. So please go like his Facebook page and check out his store as well.

Christmas Tree Accents

So…. I decided to try and keep playing around with stuff. I came up with these three trees as accents for Christmas. I am still trying to blow the dust off my skills...

You get the three trees each on their own layer. As always, free to use and share, just please keep my design layer in tact. Hopefully if I keep working at it, I will get back to where I once was.

Thanks for looking!  OH... and before I forget...
You can edit, add, remove etc any pieces or portions you want.

Scrappy Spring Flowers

Many years ago I wrote a tutorial for scrap flowers using just tools that come with Paint Shop Pro.  Luckily I kept my templates and the “how to” guide because I completely forgot how I did it. LOL!  I am the Queen of back ups.  I also know I am forgetful, so when I remember, I write down things I have learned so I can reference them again.   That is a tip for all of you.

All of these flowers are in png format so all you have to do is click on them and save them directly.  I could have put them all into a pack, but why download colors or flowers that you will never use right? This way you get to pick and choose which ones you want. They actually are posting close to actual size it seems...

Colorizing Flower and Flower Pack.

Scrap Flower Pack Sample
Happy Monday Everyone!
I hope you all had a great weekend!

I had written a tutorial years ago showing how you could make pretty flowers in Paint Shop Pro without using any filters.  Well I revisited that tutorial this weekend.  I hope to rewrite it and share it with you all at a later date.

In the meantime,  I made up some new flowers using the tut, but with different options and styles.  I made a pack of 4 flowers that you can feel free to download and use.

But I also made up a file that you can use to colorize and make your own. I like sharing things that you can customize yourself to suit your needs. Options are a good thing!

There are 4 layers that you can colorize in any combo you want. There are a ton of options. I have also made flowers with this template using patterns. So you have lots of freedom to create with this and match your tag themes.

is in png format, so you can click, save

You can play around with the brightness of each layer as well.  Just go nuts!  Have fun!!!

I will be uploading some very old things I made years ago. A couple of templates, flowers etc... So keep an eye out for those.

Well get creating!
