Crochet Tube

A few years ago I came across a great website with some wonderful tutorials. The website is Tephra's Web Studio. One of the tutorials I enjoyed doing was "Crochet Chain Tubes". I've actually done of few of her tutorials and think they are great! So I do recommend you check that site out as well as try some of her tuts.

I did this tutorial in 2007 and saved my chain tube creation. I've had it all these years and I use it now and again. I redid all my files once and this one for some reason didn't make it back into my tubes. Well... I found it and exported it back to it's tube folder. It's fun to play around with.

So I thought I would share the link to the tutorial if you would like to try it for yourself, but... I also decided I would share the tube I made in case you get overwhelmed by tutorials and just want to play around with it.

It's just a fun tube to doodle with.  :)  Now I use PSP 9 so that is what my instructions will be for, but you can adapt it to whatever program you use I'm thinking.

You can save the flower to the right if you'd like. It's in PNG Format.

Below you find the tube. I have it here in a PNG Format so you just need to right click on it and save it.  Once you have it saved, open the file and choose :

FILE - EXPORT - PICTURE TUBE

You can change the settings later to your liking after you play around with it.

When the menu box comes up enter
Cells Across : 6
Cells Down : 6
Total Cells : (Should read 36)

Placement Mode : Continuous
Step Size : 20
Selection Mode : Angular
Scale : 100 (You can change it later)
Tube Name : Give it a name
OK

The Chains are done in a gray so they work well for colorizing. You can brighten or darken for deeper or lighter color effects.

I do (again) urge you to check out Tephra's Web Studio and try this tutorial on your own to add to your skills. As well as any of her other great tutorials as well.

This tube is Free to Use and share. It's sooooo much fun to play around with.

Have fun!

Bling-0001 & Bling-0002 - Doodle Bling Anyone?

I know this style of bling is old fashioned, but I am an old fashioned kind of girl. Well… Truth is I am relearning a lot of the stuff I forgot over my 5 year break. I still like this kind of bling to be honest. I don’t work much with animation anymore since most of my time is spent on Facebook and they don’t allow gifs… well they do, but I haven’t figured it out yet, and from what I have seen, if you upload anything it becomes public domain. So basically… I just don’t do much animating anymore.

I still love it tho… and I am trying to get myself motivated to do some more. I used to be pretty good at it way back when…

So here is what I have for you today. I made a doodle bling! Two birds.. one stone. LOL.
I am also offering a psp file so you can colorize the bling to suit your taste and match your tag etc.

Example with black background so you can see it clearer.

You can download the bling above with a transparent background in GIF format by clicking here.

So…. as you know, I like to give the option of colorizing.
So I made this “Bling Doodle” in a colorizing format in a PSP file.  There are 5 layers to this doodle.  There are many ways you could colorize it, but I always tend to go for the (as I always say) ADJUSTHUE AND SATURATION COLORIZE way. Click on each layer one at a time and just colorize each layer as is… and now you have a colored bling doodle.

Create, Enjoy…. Dream!

Caged Heat - Template-0008 and 2 Snags

Artwork : ©Keith Garvey  - http://www.garvgraphx.com
Available for Purchase at : http://garv-girlspsptubes.pinnaclecart.com/

So I started to play around with some stuff. I found this great frame thing in a font pack. I thought it would be really cool to use. But once I got it on canvas and sized up... It was distorted and hard to work with. So I made my own from scratch and changed it up. At least it inspired me and from scratch is more fun anyway. :)

Below is how the template will look. There are 6 workable layers. I included some paper backgrounds. The great thing (I think) about this template is that you can just colorize the pieces to match the theme you are going for.  To make it easier on you.... all you have to do in PSP is :

ADJUST - HUE AND SATURATION - COLORIZE

Then play around with the sliders, or just use the dice.  The possibilities are endless!

Available in PSP and PSD formats. Hope you enjoy.

I also whipped up some Snaggables for you to grab. I only made 2 because I was getting frustrated. Plus they are kind of huge. LOL

Frame-0001 & Frame-0002 - Devilishly Good + Extras

Artwork ©Keith Garvey - http://garvgraphx.com

I wanted to design up something a little different for a frame.  I tend to lean to lacey and flowery. So I wanted to try and do something a little darker. This is the end result.

I really liked how these came out. I created 2 packs so that you have options. Each pack is 3 layers. A heart frame alone, a heart frame with the horns and tail as pictured above and a heart with the horns and tail that will work for colorizing it to suit your needs.
(Adjust - Hue and Saturation - Colorize)

I also whipped up some extras you can download.
They are in png format, so you can just click on them and save them.

Colorizing Flower and Flower Pack.

Scrap Flower Pack Sample
Happy Monday Everyone!
I hope you all had a great weekend!

I had written a tutorial years ago showing how you could make pretty flowers in Paint Shop Pro without using any filters.  Well I revisited that tutorial this weekend.  I hope to rewrite it and share it with you all at a later date.

In the meantime,  I made up some new flowers using the tut, but with different options and styles.  I made a pack of 4 flowers that you can feel free to download and use.

But I also made up a file that you can use to colorize and make your own. I like sharing things that you can customize yourself to suit your needs. Options are a good thing!

There are 4 layers that you can colorize in any combo you want. There are a ton of options. I have also made flowers with this template using patterns. So you have lots of freedom to create with this and match your tag themes.

You can play around with the brightness of each layer as well.  Just go nuts!  Have fun!!!

Well get creating!
