Crochet Tube

A few years ago I came across a great website with some wonderful tutorials. The website is Tephra's Web Studio. One of the tutorials I enjoyed doing was "Crochet Chain Tubes". I've actually done of few of her tutorials and think they are great! So I do recommend you check that site out as well as try some of her tuts.

I did this tutorial in 2007 and saved my chain tube creation. I've had it all these years and I use it now and again. I redid all my files once and this one for some reason didn't make it back into my tubes. Well... I found it and exported it back to it's tube folder. It's fun to play around with.

So I thought I would share the link to the tutorial if you would like to try it for yourself, but... I also decided I would share the tube I made in case you get overwhelmed by tutorials and just want to play around with it.

It's just a fun tube to doodle with.  :)  Now I use PSP 9 so that is what my instructions will be for, but you can adapt it to whatever program you use I'm thinking.

You can save the flower to the right if you'd like. It's in PNG Format.

Below you find the tube. I have it here in a PNG Format so you just need to right click on it and save it.  Once you have it saved, open the file and choose :

FILE - EXPORT - PICTURE TUBE

You can change the settings later to your liking after you play around with it.

When the menu box comes up enter
Cells Across : 6
Cells Down : 6
Total Cells : (Should read 36)

Placement Mode : Continuous
Step Size : 20
Selection Mode : Angular
Scale : 100 (You can change it later)
Tube Name : Give it a name
OK

The Chains are done in a gray so they work well for colorizing. You can brighten or darken for deeper or lighter color effects.

I do (again) urge you to check out Tephra's Web Studio and try this tutorial on your own to add to your skills. As well as any of her other great tutorials as well.

This tube is Free to Use and share. It's sooooo much fun to play around with.

Have fun!

Frame-0018 (Collection) A Re-Do of an Oldie.

Hi Everyone,

So like I said yesterday I am cleaning out some files. Well I came across a set of 5 frames that I made and never posted... well, sort of never posted.  I posted just one in the collection as a Christmas Frame. It was back in December of 2014 and I only posted that one because the others weren't holiday themed and I just didn't think I should.

So today I decided it was a good time to post them, but I really liked the concept of the frames and how I designed them, so I decided to make some more and do a few in some fall colors because it's that season, so why not?

So this collection of 5 frames is now a collection of 12!! I tried to go with different color and style variations so they can be used for the seasons or for anything really.

I decided to share these as PNG files and so I put them all together in a .rar file. I just think that made more sense than posting the collections in two different formats right?  So as always... Free to Use... colorize, add, subtract, share... whatever you want. But again, as always, I only ask you leave my link on the frame layer if you share. It's very little to ask right?

Each Frame is it's own individual file with just the one layer. Below is a sample of what the 12 frames look like. They look much better in their actual size but to save space I shrunk the sample down some.

Thanks for looking!

So I have been going through my files and cleaning stuff out. I have a ton of projects that I started and never completed. Some of them I found interesting enough to hold onto in case one day I think I can do something with them.

This collection of frames were made in 2008.... so they are pretty old and their style will reflect that. Nothing super cool or funky, but I thought I would share them. You can feel free to do whatever you want to them. Colorize, add, subtract... etc.

I put them all in one file as layers. I X'd out most of the layers because it made the files a bit smaller. I was pretty surprised to discover that PSD files are much bigger than PSP files. Not sure why that is. Anyway... I just wanted to toss these up in case anyone was interested. I plan on adding more old files over the next few days.... so keep and eye out for updates.

This is what the file looks like :

Nine Frames in all, each on their own layer.

This is just to give you a close up idea of how they look.

As always... Free to use... blah blah blah.... Just don't claim them as your own, and please leave the Designed by layer in tact. Have fun!

Frame-0016 - Candy Love

ARTWORK : ©Arthur Crowe
AVAILABLE FOR PURCHASE AT : http://www.arthurcrowesfactory.com/store/

So I have been trying some new things lately. I am trying to get some new skills under my belt so I can make something fresh. Today I made the curly ribbon you see on the frame and from there it evolved into the frame I am sharing with you today. Now I bought AV Bros plug-in a few years ago to be able to make ribbons etc, but honestly that plug-in overwhelms me and I have never been overly successful in creating variety. So I decided to try Adobe Illustrator. It scares the heck out of me because it is so different. So I made the ribbon in Illustrator and then did everything else in PSP. LOL  Cuz that's what I am comfortable with.  SO... I am offering up this frame. I think it's a fun one... I also whipped up a bunch of extras that you can snag if you want. You can find them all in My Fotki Album "The Snag Shack" You'll find a bunch of snags there. Feel free to check them all out.

So I am offering this frame as a simple png file... so all you need to do is right click on it and choose "Save As" or whatever option your browser gives you. Please feel free to share it and colorize it... whatever you want... All I ask is that you don't claim it as your own... and maybe recommend people come check out my blog. Not necessary... but why not?  Enjoy!

Enjoy, Create, Dream!

Bling-0003 & Bling-0004 - Heart Blings.

This is just a fancy fun heart bling. I made it in black and filled in the center with red. I also made a white one with a plain center. I am posting them in a psp format because I am not sure if it can be animated in a psd format. If someone can let me know, I would be happy to start sharing them in that format as well.

This is how the white one looks on darker backgrounds.
You can download this Bling-0003 in PSP format Here!
